W&B Automotive Repair Ltd. is named after its founders, Wayne and Brigitte Laplante. They got into the business in 1983 at the Airdrie Shell with a 2-bay garage and towing capabilities. With 1 employed apprentice technician and Wayne, a licensed technician, W&B Automotive Repair became incorporated on August 29, 1983. After three years of operations, W&B Automotive Repair had to be closed as the Shell station in Airdrie closed. However, they managed to bounce back and purchase land which became the permanent home for W&B Automotive Repair.
Between 1987 to 1988, W&B Automotive Repair Ltd. grew and became a 4-bay automotive shop.
Wayne and Brigitte’s son, Dan, was interested in their family business. He would often accompany his father to his shop. When Wayne suddenly passed away while vacationing in BC, it came as a shock to all. Airdrie lost a great businessman and a generous soul. Dan decided to continue his father’s legacy and took over the management of the shop.
W&B Automotive Repair Ltd. won the Airdrie City View Readers Choice Awards for Best Place for Auto Repairs in 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Dan gives credit for these achievements to his father.
